One night stand with my president(chapter 269)

But he eventually relented and allowed Rogelio and Jasmine to enter.

Rogelio helped Jasmine into the apartment.

Russell didn't make any move to greet them and instead sat back at his computer to continue working. Jasmine looked around the apartment and said with concern, "Russell, this place is nice, but it's not like home. You should move back home, will you?"

Russell didn't respond. Rogelio intervened, 'It's closer to the office here, so it's more convenient for Russell."

"That's true, but I'm worried about him living alone. Look, there are even takeout boxes here. How can he eat takeout every day? Even hiring a maid to take care of him would be better," Jasmine said, sighing.

Jasmine continued, "But even hiring a maid might not be reliable. If it's like the maid at home who drugged, it would be terrible."

Upon hearing this, Russell finally reacted and glanced at Jasmine.

"Drugged? What does that mean?" Russell thought.

"Exactly," Rogelio agreed, looking at Russell with a complex expression.

Russell started to piece things together.

"It seems that this couple's visit is more than just a casual check-in," Russell thought.

"What exactly do you want from me today?"

Russell asked.

Jasmine subtly tugged on Rogelio's sleeve.

Rogelio understood her meaning.

After a moment's consideration, he said,

"Russell, actually, there was an incident at home today. A maid dared to drug your aunt's milk. Fortunately, she noticed the strange taste and didn't drink much. I took her to the hospital in time. Otherwise, she would have lost the baby."

Seeing their expressions, Russell suddenly realized something.

"So, you think I'm behind this?"

"Of course we trust you," Jasmine said.

"We're family. You wouldn't do something like this. You've always been kind since you were a child. But the maid insists it was your order, so we just want to clear up any misunderstandings."

After hearing this, Russell suddenly smiled.

The smile was bitter and tinged with sarcasm.

"Does it matter if there's a misunderstanding?" he asked coldly. "Since you're here, it means you already suspect me."

"It's not true!" Jasmine said.

She turned to Rogelio and said, "Please say something."

"Yes, Russell, how could we suspect you? We just want to clear things up if there's any misunderstanding to avoid affecting family harmony. Plus, it would prevent such incidents from happening again," Rogelio said.

In reality, while Rogelio said this, he still had some doubts in his heart.

He knew Russell had always resented them.

And Russell had been very angry after he announced Jasmine's pregnancy.

Moreover, in high society, conflicts between siblings were not uncommon.

But Rogelio hoped Russell wasn't involved, so he felt conflicted inside.
